How are you doing today? BTW, I just realized it's
Good Friday and the Easter holiday weekend is upon
us. Happy Easter to all and don't eat too many
jelly beans LOL
I don't know about you, but I've been noticing a
trend recently in some of the free e-books I've
been receiving.
It used to be that a majority of those people that
were publishing these free e-books had a tendency
to fill their books with a bunch of untested
and/or hypothetical theories they had never even
tried themselves.
Well, I just wanted to let you know that I have

Okay, next thing I wanted to tell you about.
As I told you in the last edition of this e-zine,
I was offering my new e-book to all of my

some pretty decent results. I was a bit surprised that I
sold as many copies as I did.
I've also added an autoresponder series of
relevant articles that I've written on Identity
Theft that customers will receive when they
purchase my e-book. The series consists of about
40 articles and elaborates a bit more on the
information presented in the e-book.
The sales from the general public started off a
little slow but after the first week and a whole
bunch of promotional efforts, they have picked up
to what I would consider to be a pretty decent
level.
Apparently, I've stumbled onto a pretty responsive
marketing niche with this product!
When you stop and think about it, Identity Theft
affects ALL people in all walks of life and no one
is safe from the Identity Thieves!
Recently, on our local news, (www.nbc-2.com)
there was a report of an Identity Theft ring being
broken up by the Cape Coral (Florida) Police. They
raided a house and arrested three Hispanic males
that were in possession of over 100 personal
identities of local residents.
According to the police, these guys obtained this
information by stealing mail from mailboxes and
also by going thru the trash.
Some of the people whose identities were found in
this house were interviewed on camera by the
reporter and they said they were not even aware
that their identities had been stolen!

The cold hard
truth about Identity Theft is once you become
an identity theft victim, it will take you
what seems like forever to get your name
cleared.
Regardless of how many times the law tells you
they are working to remove the problem, it is
unlikely to happen. The person behind it is
still around and deadly active. It seems the
Identity Thieves are always one step ahead of
the law.
In 1994, shortly after relocating to Florida,
I discovered I had joined the ranks of
Identity Theft victims.
At that time, I
had no idea of what I was going to do to try
to get my personal credit records corrected.
I'm STILL fighting (since 1994) with the
credit bureaus to get the problem corrected!
That's well over 13 years and I still have a
problem when I apply for new credit.
I can't even begin
to tell you how much time I've spent filling
out forms and going to my attorney's office,
etc., etc., to get this problem corrected.
I've also spent well over $6000 in my efforts
and I'm still not finished!
When I contacted the credit bureaus they did
nothing to remove the charges against me,
rather they merely placed a resolved or other
related comment behind the debt.
Just last week, in Cape Coral (just across the
river from us in Ft. Myers) the Cape Coral
Police raided a house and arrested three
Hispanic males that were in possession of over
100 pieces of personal identity information.
The reporter who
was covering the story contacted several of
those people whose personal identity
information was found in the house and
interviewed them on camera.
Guess what a majority of those people
interviewed said. Well, instead of making you
guess, I'll tell you what they said. Most of
them stated they were not even aware their
personal information had been stolen. Several
of them also said they never thought it would
happen to them.
That's the biggest thing the Identity Thieves
have going for them and why it is so easy for
them to steal someone's identity. Most people
have that very same "It won't happen to me"
attitude.
Well, guess
what......SURPRISE! Your identity has been
stolen! And now you are stuck with trying to
clean up the mess created by the Identity
Thieves!

take to prevent this from happening to you, I

I highly recommend that you not just sit there
and say "It won't happen to me" because sure
as hell, it WILL happen to you! And once it
does, as you can see by my personal
experience, you are going to be in for one
heck of a battle to get the mess cleaned up
that the Identity Thieves will create in your
name.
Other people have suffered far more severe
attacks on their life, including being
summoned to court for debts they never could
have made. The people lived in one area of the
world, while the perpetrators were acting in
another area.
For the last two weeks, the TV show Dateline
has been doing a special report on "How To
Catch an Identity Thief" and the Dateline crew
has been totally awesome in what they've
uncovered.

Pathetic as it is, we as the victims must
suffer the loss of our lives while a few are
taking the stand to stop the crimes against
themselves.
Often victims of identity theft are denied
credit and find it difficult to survive once
the credit reports are affected.
Some states permit freezing of the credit
reports, which should be permitted in all
states, since it denies anyone the right to
review the credit reports, except the person
that has the right ownership. Most states
allow Fraud Alerts up to three months and
sometimes permanently, but this only makes the
victim look bad since nothing is removed from
the reports.
Hence identity theft is ongoing and it is up
to us to protect ourselves. But advancements
in technology are making this difficult as it
has made it easier for thieves to gain access
to nearly anyone's identity. The Federal
Government has high-tech developments that
protect their databases but identity thieves
have proven that even this level of technology
will not hinder them.
Newer credit cards have chips in them that is
supposedly sophisticated enough to prevent or
curb theft. However, the Identity Thieves are
far more sophisticated in most instances and
accept the challenge going above and beyond
the chips.
The World Wide Web is the single area where
Identity Thieves frequent and often the web
sites on the Internet use programs designed
that are supposed to ward off hackers,
crackers, spies and other harmful critters,
but the development has only made it
convenient for the thieves to get in the doors
to thousands of computers.
In 2006, more than nine million people alone
became victims of Identity Theft, and the
majority of crimes committed happened on the
Internet.
Then again some cases of Identity Theft report
turned out to be neighbors, friends, and even
family members.
One case reported came from England when a
couple moved to the States and when they left
they learned that their identities were stolen
and they had to endure pain and suffering for
years. The couple unfortunately received
little if any help and were sent summons to
appear in court for debts they did not
initiate.
Creditors and financial lenders often view
Identity Theft victims as using an scape goat
to get out of debt. The victim is left
standing despite the concrete evidence showing
that the person did not authorize the debts.
That's the cold hard truth about Identity
Theft.
As such, this leaves us all in a shamble since
we have to do everything we can to avoid
Identity Theft.
If it was up to me, I'd say get rid of the
credit cards and other materials that have
potential links to thieves, however nowadays
if you do not have a credit card you are
basically considered an outcast. We are
steadily moving towards a "cashless" society
and eventually we will not even have to carry
any cash in our pockets.
We live in a stereotyped, uncultured world
where too many judges and assumers control the
environment. Therefore you would be in a
better position to think like a criminal and
protect yourself from everyone, including
creditors, police, lawyers, government
officials and so forth to win the horrific
increasing rates of Identity Theft victims.

10 Costly Search Engine Mistakes to Avoid

If you have a website then you already know
the importance of traffic. Traffic is to
Internet marketing as location is to real
estate. It's the only thing that really
matters.
If you cannot generate targeted visitors
to your site, you will not make any sales.
Usually the owner or designer of the website
is the person designated to drive traffic to
the site. The chief ingredient in generating
traffic is the search engine.
Of course, you can use advertising, but it's
going to cost you. Using the search engines
to generate targeted (interested in your
product) traffic is the least expensive
method known.
Unfortunately, many website owners do not
understand the importance of search engine
visibility, which leads to traffic. They
place more importance on producing a
"pretty" website. Not that this is bad, but
it is really secondary to search engine
placement.
Hopefully, the following list of common
mistakes, made by many website owners, will
help you generate more targeted traffic to
your site...after all, isn't that what you
want.
1. Not using keywords effectively.
This is probably one of the most critical
area of site design. Choose the right
keywords and potential customers will find
your site. Use the wrong ones and your site
will see little, if any, traffic.
2. Repeating the same keywords.
When you use the same keywords over and over
again (called keyword stacking) the search
engines may downgrade (or skip) the page or
site.
3. Robbing pages from other websites.
How many times have you heard or read that
"this is the Internet and it's ok" to steal
icons and text from websites to use on your
site. Don't do it. Its one thing to learn
from others who have been there and another
to outright copy their work. The search
engines are very smart and usually detect
page duplication. They may even prevent you
from ever being listed by them.
4. Using keywords that are not related to
your website.
Many unethical website owners try to gain
search engine visibility by using keywords
that have nothing at all to do with their
website. They place unrelated keywords in a
page (such as "sex", the name of a known
celebrity, the hot search topic of the day,
etc.) inside a meta tag for a page. The
keyword doesn't have anything to do with the
page topic. However, since the keyword is
popular, they think this will boost their
visibility. This technique is considered
spam by the search engines and may cause the
page (or sometimes the whole site) to be
removed from the search engine listing.
5. Keyword stuffing.
Somewhat like keyword stacking listed above,
this means to assign multiple keywords to
the description of a graphic or layer that
appears on your website by using the "alt="
HTML parameter. If the search engines find
that this text does not really describe the
graphic or layer it will be considered spam.
6. Relying on hidden text.
You might be inclined to think that if you
cannot see it, it doesn't hurt. Wrong.... Do
not try to hide your keywords or keyword
phrases by making them invisible. For
example, some unethical designers my set the
keywords to the same color as the background
of the web page; thereby, making it
invisible.
7. Relying on tiny text.
This is another version of the item above
(relying on hidden text). Do not try to hide
your keywords or keyword phrases by making
them tiny. Setting the text size of the
keywords so small that it can barely be seen
does this.
8. Assuming all search engines are the
same.
Many people assume that each search engine
plays by the same rules. This is not so.
Each has their own rule base and is subject
to change anytime they so desire. Make it a
point to learn what each major search engine
requires for high visibility.
9. Using free web hosting.
Do not use free web hosting if you are
really serious about increasing site traffic
via search engine visibility. Many times the
search engines will eliminate content from
these free hosts.
10. Forgetting to check for missing web
page elements.
Make sure to check every page in your
website for completeness, like missing
links, graphics, etc. There are sites on the
web that will do this for free.
This is just a few of the methods and
techniques that you should avoid. Do not
give in to the temptation that these methods
will work for you. They will do more harm
than good for your website.
Not only will you spend weeks of wasted
effort, you may have your site banned from
the search engines forever. Invest a little
time to learn the proper techniques for
increasing search engine visibility and your
net traffic will increase.
