Blogging used to
be just a method for stating your opinion, but
now blogs are used to opine, to review, and to
sell. In fact, many Internet marketers base
their entire business around blogging.

and encourage your readers to not only read
your new article but comment on it.
By using your list in this manner, your

list merely to sell to them.

readers begin to comment on your posts, you
are helping to enhance your blog's stickiness.

How To Set Up An Automated
Filing System In Your e-mail Inbox

Here's a
little tip that I use all the time to help
keep my Outlook Express inbox well
organized.
You'll remember in the last edition, I
showed you how to create new
folders in your e-mail inbox.
If you keep in mind
that your e-mail inbox is very much like a
file
cabinet containing several drawers and the
folders I showed you how to create in the
last edition are the individual drawers of
your filing cabinet.
Just to clarify this,
let's assume you've created your filing
cabinet
titled, "My Business Information"
Okay, then you've
created your individual drawers (folders)
with the
various labels you want on them. For
example, if you are subscribed to several
different e-zines or affiliate programs, or
membership sites, etc., you might want to
make a folder for each one of them.
Now I'm going to show
you how to make your e-mail system do all of
the filing for you so you don't have to
spend all of that time filing all of
your incoming e-mails in the various drawers
of your filing cabinet.
Okay, let's get
started creating an automatic filing system
for your inbox.
Open your e-mail client and highlight the
message you want to file.
Click on the "Message" option up in the top
tool bar.
Next, you will left click on "Create Rule
From Message" in the drop down menu.
A box will open up on your screen with the
words "New Mail Rule" at the top. You will
have three separate options in this box.
In the first option, you will want to check
the "Where the FROM line contains people"
option.
In the second option, you will want to check
the "Move It To The Specified Folder"
When you do this, the specified folder will
show up in the third box.
If the name of the folder does not appear in
the "Specified Folder" section, just click
on the words "Specified Folder" and you will
get a list of the folders you've already
created.
Once you have determined where you want the
incoming e-mail to be filed, just click on
the "OK" button and all of your future
incoming
e-mails from that e-mail address will
automatically be filed in the proper folder.
But what if you
already have bunches and bunches of e-mails
from that same e-mail address you just
created the rule for sitting in your inbox?
How do you get all of them filed into the
folder without physically moving each
individual e-mail?
Funny you should ask that question, but I
have the answer to that one ready for you.
After you have created the "Message Rule"
for that particular message, just go back to
your inbox and click on the "Tools" option
up in the top menu bar.
You will see "Message
Rules" in the drop down menu. When you put
your cursor on that, you will get another
little pop out menu that has three options
on it. They are "Mail" News" and "Blocked
Sender's List". You want to click on the
"Mail" option.
You will see another
box open up on your screen with the list of
folders you've already created.
Over on the right side of this box, you'll
see the
option "Apply Now"
Make sure the folder you want all of those
e-mails to go to is highlighted and click on
the "Apply Now" option and all of your
e-mails sitting in your inbox will
automatically be moved to the specified
folder.
That's all there is to
it!
Pretty simple, huh?
Just remember, if you
have any questions, or there is something
you just don't understand, you can always

You will be surprised
to see how much time this little tip will
save you
and also help you keep from deleting an
important e-mail that you decided you wanted
to keep for future reference.

Build One Way Links by Pinging

What is
pinging?
Pinging is a way of letting search engines
know that you've created a new post, or
updated an existing post on your blog. A
'ping' is a message sent to a 'ping server'
notifying it that the blog has been updated
with new content.
What is a ping server?
A ping server is a web-based service that
accepts messages in the XML-RPC format. It
uses the information in these XML-RPC
messages to publish a list of blogs which
have updated content. Some of these ping
servers run their own blog search engines,
and some propagate the information to a
number of other ping servers and search
engines.
How does pinging work?
Many blog publishing platforms, such as
Wordpress, have a built-in pinging tool. In
the case of Wordpress, pinging is turned on
by default and pings go out to one ping
server which updates several search engines.
You can also notify a ping server that you
have updated content manually by going to
their website and submitting your blog's
name and URL.
One popular ping server is PingOMatic, found
at http://pingomatic.com/. When your blog
pings PingOMatic it then notifies a number
of search engines that your blog has been
updated. Many of these search engines also
have their own ping server as well.
These search engines can then update their
listings with new content almost instantly.
This of course will give you one-way
backlinks to your blog from these search
engines, many of which have a high Google
PageRank.
4 things you should know about pinging
1. Only ping when you have updated
content. Otherwise, your site might be
blacklisted as a spam blog, also known as a
splog.
2. If you tend to post to your blog
and then re-write the post frequently you
might want to make sure you only ping when
you actually post new content, not on
updates. If you are using Wordpress there
are a few plugins that make sure that pings
are only sent when a post is created.
3. It's a good idea to ping several
ping services, especially the ones that
notify several search engines. Don't overdo
it though. Make sure that if you are pinging
a niche search engine that your blog falls
into the relevant niche.
4. Make sure that if a search engine
is notified by a ping server you are already
using that you don't add that search engines
own ping service to your list of servers to
ping. Because blog spammers have abused ping
servers if you are pinging a search engine
multiple times your site might end up being
blacklisted, and not appear in the search
engines at all.

We use a "Double Opt-In"

check your trash/spam folders and if not found

to your
email address white list on your email
program.
(Note: Please be sure to replace the [at] with @
and remove the spaces, or else the email
addresses won't work. They are put here like that to
help prevent robots from harvesting the email
addresses and using them to send out spam)
so please make sure that you subscribe
with your valid e-mail address that you check on a
regular basis.
